I started working with and for Dan in 1988 and was still at the Company when he retired - this in itself is testament to a great boss. I will be forever grateful for the opportunities he gave me and for making work fun. We worked hard but we played hard too and Dan was always so very generous. I have so many good and treasured memories although some are a little blurred - maybe due to time passing but more likely because of the copious amount of alcohol consumed. It really felt like a family and I don't think I'll ever have that again. This was entirely down to Dan.
When I was quite unwell and when my own father was seriously ill, Dan was so supportive and I will never forget his kindness.
A warm, big hearted family man with a great sense of humour who I am proud to have known - a true gentleman who will be very much missed. by everyone who knew him.
